Sleepy Steve

Here is Steve in strip number 605 (or [link]) where he finally manages to get some sleep. The original panel taken from [link] Steve & Bob Webcomic :D

Jack's Guns

It's John Barrowman, showing off his guns, trying to impress the boys and girls.
I suppose because of that, this is the most life like drawing I've done to date.

The Revised Trio

A revised version of [link] with shinier skins and shirt ripping goodness

Duff Returns

This had to be the most fun I’ve had with a strip in a very, very long time. The big reveal! Firstly, the thing that had conveniently left Steve (and many of the follower’s of the comic’s) mind was his brief encounter with that Swedish girl while he was cruising the Nile.
I couldn’t help but smile when I thought about what sort of expressions Steve and Shelly would have when Radox blurted it out.
And as if that wasn’t enough, a bigger bombshell smushes them in the form of our mystery bear. Now those observant of you may have noticed that Dave Duff is not a girl as Steve exclaimed before. So, who is? Anyone who’s a bit savvy with the strips up to know should at least know her surname, but how? How is Dave not a girl?!
HOW?!
I’m sure that one person who could answer this figured it out a few strips ago, but lets go back to that last panel.
It’s my FAVOURITE!
If there is a demand for it, I’ll turn it into a poster. Hell, I might just turn it into a poster and keep it for myself! The layers were difficult to make as I didn’t want more rocks to be behind Duff and Ray, so I found a lovely picture of stalagmites (or stalactites) and used that as a reference point.
Then I got rid of the black outlines of the dust clouds and gave them a fair bit of texture. Then there was Duff and Ray. Duff was pretty easy to make and it took a lot of will power to get rid of his braces. As for Ray, well, it was always a bit of a cop out that he didn’t wear proper combat gear before, so now he’s properly camouflaged in his desert storm gear.
Then the obligatory rocks which have been a standard since Steve first entered the temple. Then the rather grim images of Steve and Shell, unconscious, buried under rocks, bleeding, contrasting their soft images with the sharp and untarnished image of the Maroon Calf.
Ooh, this strip took a particularly long time to make but I had so much fun making it! It’s great that after all this time, after a year of having this story in my head, some of it has spilled out for everyone to see. And now, say it loud and say it proud; the bear is a boy!

And then... IT ENTERED ME!

Journal Entry: Tue Nov 3, 2009, 1:53 AM
So yeah, I hope you enjoyed Halloween. I did. I just chilled out on a couch, eating pizza and watching Juno. I was giving out life advice to the characters in the TV. Out loud. So that I could be heard. Nick pitied me.
So now I’m adjusting to my new home, my new area and my new bus routes. Apart from a short bout of depression, everything’s been fine (thanks to Nick and Sam and Max and Bosco the cow).
Also, it seems that the only way I can get Virgin Broadband is if the engineer wires it over the roof or through my neighbours flat (which involves a kitchen, and having a wire through there is a sin apparently) so the lifestyles of the broadband super fast lifestyle will now be a distant memory. Well, for a year or so at least.
That said, everything else seems to be going okay. Nick and I went to see Dara O’Briain the other night. He was on stage talking about his book, but also about the Albanians, David O’Brian and the English Aborigines (Nick Griffin anyone?).
We also saw "The Informant!" which would have been a normal film if it wasn’t for the amazing music throughout (and Matt Damon’s hairpiece) and "Up In The Air" which made me giggle throughout and had me pining to go on American Airways for some strange reason.
I also saw Up! which just had me very confused emotionally. I was either laughing, sobbing or very excited. Don’t let all the ads that seem to be EVERYWHERE put you off, this is a brilliant film, and being the cinema enthusiast that I am, you have to see this on the big screen. In 3D if you can.
Also, can I just say I couldn’t have hoped for better company. Nick’s been there for me in so many difficult times lately and I would have cracked up if it wasn’t for his kind heart, his wise words and his Dominos pizzas!

I'm a web comic artist and am working on a new comic at the moment. I'd really like to get to a greater audience on the web, as Steve & Bob hasn't generally been granted that much of an audience in the past, and I'm hoping to have better success with Elemental Micah.
